Santa Catarina has a state day, 11 August, but it is always observed the following Sunday: in practice the state has no extra weekday off. 25 November, the patron saint's day, is still only a bill. 2027: 11 national and state holidays, 7 on weekdays, and 254 working days. According to the state Finance Department, under Law 17,335/2017 "the 11 August holiday, Santa Catarina State Day, and related events are moved to the following Sunday". In 2026 that was 16 August, in 2027 it is 15 August and in 2028, 13 August. In 2026 the government sent the assembly a bill to make 25 November, Saint Catherine of Alexandria, a holiday; by 28 October 2026 we had found no law passed. Florianópolis's holidays are not on the site: the city's portals could not be read.
