Pará has one state holiday, 15 August, marking Grão-Pará's adherence to Brazilian Independence in 1823, almost a year after the Cry of Ipiranga. It is the state's only holiday in August. 2027: 11 national and state holidays, 7 on weekdays, and 254 working days. The Pará government's decree with the 2026 calendar, Decree 5,122 of December 2025, lists 15 August, "Pará's Adherence to Brazilian Independence", as a state holiday. In 2027 it falls on a Sunday, with no effect on working days; in 2028 on a Tuesday, with a bridge on Monday the 14th. The Círio de Nazaré in October is the state's biggest religious festival, but it takes place on a Sunday and is not a state holiday. Belém's municipal holidays are not on the site: the official city and court portals could not be read.
