The Federal District has three district holidays: Brasília's anniversary on 21 April, which coincides with Tiradentes Day, Corpus Christi, and Evangelical Day on 30 November. As it has no municipalities, there are no separate municipal holidays. 2027: 12 national and state holidays, 9 on weekdays, and 252 working days. Brasília's anniversary and Corpus Christi come from District Law 72 of 27 December 1989; Evangelical Day from Law 963/1995. That is why Corpus Christi, usually an optional day off elsewhere, is a real holiday in Brasília and every administrative region. Federal bodies based in Brasília follow the Ministry of Management's ordinance, which treats Corpus Christi as an optional day off; for private-sector workers in the district, the district law applies. In 2027, Corpus Christi falls on Thursday 27 May and Evangelical Day on a Tuesday.
