Minas Gerais has a state day, 21 April, which coincides with Tiradentes Day, a national holiday: the state gains no extra day off. In Belo Horizonte, municipal law adds four religious holidays. 2027: 10 national and state holidays, 7 on weekdays, and 254 working days. Article 256 of the Minas Gerais Constitution sets 21 April, the day Tiradentes was executed, as the state day. As the day is already a national holiday under Law 662/1949, the Minas calendar matches the national one. 16 July and 8 December are state observances without a day off. Belo Horizonte, under municipal Law 11,397/2022, has Good Friday, Corpus Christi, the Assumption on 15 August and the Immaculate Conception on 8 December as holidays, plus 20 November, now national.
