Paraná has no state holiday. 19 December, the state's political emancipation, stopped being a holiday in 2014, and the law says so in plain words. Curitiba has two municipal holidays. 2027: 10 national and state holidays, 7 on weekdays, and 254 working days. State Law 18,384/2014 keeps 19 December as an observance, "not constituting a civil holiday", and repealed the 1962 law that created it. The government decree with the 2026 calendar confirms it: no state holiday. In Curitiba, the City Council confirms Corpus Christi, under Law 3,015/1967, and Our Lady of Light of the Pines, the city's patron saint, on 8 September. In 2027, 8 September falls on a Wednesday, right after Independence Day on the Tuesday: taking Monday the 6th off gives Saturday to Wednesday.
